Barracuda ADC Quick Start Manual

Installation
To install the Barracuda Load Balancer ADC:
1. Secure the device in your environment.
2. Connect an Ethernet cable from the management port on the back of the
device to the network switch for your management network.
3. Connect your monitor and keyboard cable.
4. Connect your power source; the AC input voltage range is 100-240 volts at
50/60 Hz. Turn on the device.
Configure the Management IP Address
Once fully booted, the login prompt appears on your display. Configure the
management IP address (the default value is 192.168.200.200):
1. Log in using admin/admin.
2. Go to TCP/IP Configuration, and in the right pane, configure the
addresses as appropriate for your network including:
Management IP Address/Netmask
Gateway Address
Management VLAN ID (Optional)
Primary/Secondary DNS Servers
Proxy Server Configuration (Optional)

Open Firewall Ports
If your

As required to access the VIP address of a
load-balanced service. Be sure to configure
1:1 NATs as needed.
Activate Subscription
1. In a browser on the management network, enter the Barracuda Load
Balancer ADC IP address and the default HTTP port, for example,
http://192.168.200.200:8000
2. Log
into
the web interface using admin/admin.
3. Go to BASIC > Status, and under Subscription Status, verify the Energize
Updates subscription status is Current. If the status is Not Activated, click
the activation link and complete your subscription activation. If you are
connected to the Internet, the activation status automatically updates once
you reload the BASIC > Status page. If your network firewall prevents the
Barracuda Load Balancer ADC from automatically updating the
activation status, you can manually enter the activation code on the
BASIC > Status page.
Update the Firmware and Change the Administrator Password
Go to ADVANCED > Firmware Update. If there is a new Latest General
Release available:
1. Click Download Now; allow the download to complete. Do not power off
during update or download.
2. Click Apply Now; the device automatically reboots once the process is
complete.
Go to BASIC > Administration and change the administrator password.
