    System Components Your AcerPower computer system is made up of several components. These include the computer itself, the monitor, keyboard, and speaker set. This section provides a brief description of the main component features. Disk drives Your computer comes with the following disk drives: Floppy drive Your computer’s 3.5-inch floppy drive accepts 720-KB and 1.44-MB capacity diskettes.

However, they are more delicate than diskettes and must be handled with extra care.     Setting up your system Arranging a comfortable work area Working safely begins with the arrangement of your work space and the proper use of equipment. For this reason, it is very important to take time and think about how you are going to arrange your work area.

    Positioning your monitor Place your monitor at a comfortable viewing distance, usually 50 to 60 centimeters away. Adjust the display in such a way that the top of the screen is at or slightly below eye level. Positioning your keyboard The location of the keyboard is a very important factor to your posture.

    Connecting peripherals Setting up your computer is easy. For the most part, you only have four things to connect: the mouse, the keyboard, the monitor, and the power cable. Mouse Plug the mouse cable into the the USB port PS/2 mouse port computer.

    Plug the power cable into the power cable socket located on the rear panel of your computer. Then plug the other end of the power cable into a power outlet.
