SCREWED-DOWN POSITION [position A] Your TUDOR watch is equipped with a screw-down crown. Once this is fully screwed down against the case, your watch is guaranteed waterproof. [position B] MANUAL WINDING A watch equipped with a self-winding mechanical movement is wound automatically by wrist movements alone.
In order to adjust the day of the week, unscrew and pull the crown out to the first notch. Then turn it anticlockwise until the desired day appears in the window. Certain calibres do not have a date function. For the Black Bay GMT see pages 22-31.
[position C without date and position D with date] TIME-SETTING In order to adjust the time, unscrew the crown and pull it out to the last notch. Then turn it in either direction until the hands indicate the correct time. The small seconds hand is stopped during this operation, allowing the time to be set accurately.

ROTATABLE BEZEL The unidirectional rotatable bezel allows precise the bezel rotates measurement of dive times. For safety, in one direction only. FUNCTION SPECIFIC TO THE PELAGOS HELIUM VALVE During dives in a hyperbaric environment, superfluid gases penetrate the watch. The Pelagos is fitted with a helium valve which allows these gases to escape during decompression.

The date changes when the hour hand passes midnight, in either direction. Set the local time by turning the crown in either direction.

When travelling, to adjust local time only (without affecting the 24-hour reference time display), unscrew the crown and then pull it out to the first notch. Set the local time by turning the crown in either direction. The hour hand moves in increments of one hour. The date is linked to local time and changes automatically when the hour hand passes midnight.

A third time zone can be displayed by using the rotatable bezel and the 24-hour hand. It is based on the reference time. clockwise To display the third time zone, turn the bezel (negative) or anticlockwise (positive) according to the difference between the reference time (24-hour hand) and the time in the desired zone.

The 24-hour hand read against the bezel indicates the time in the third time zone. The minutes are shown on the dial by the minute hand (except where the time zone has been negatively offset by a half hour). To return to the reference time display, turn the bezel in either direction to place the triangle on the bezel opposite the 12 o’clock marker on the dial.

CHRONOGRAPH FUNCTION Chronographs come with a small seconds hands read on a counter. The chronograph function enables you to measure times to fractions of a second, thanks to the centre seconds hand, and the total in minutes is read on a counter. To measure longer intervals, a chronograph with two 45-minute counter.

PUSHER AT 2 O’CLOCK start/stop Pressing the start/stop pusher a first time will start the chronograph. Pressing it again will stop the chronograph. Pressing a third time will start it again. In this way you can pause during timing.

PUSHER AT 4 O’CLOCK reset Resetting is only possible when the chronograph has stopped. To reset the chronograph counters, press the reset pusher; the chronograph will be ready for use again.

TACHYMETRE FUNCTION The bezel on your watch has a tachymetre function used to measure units per hour (a speed in km per hour or a flow rate in litres per hour) using the chronograph function. Select the desired unit of measurement (metre, kilometre, mile, litre, etc.), activate the chronograph and stop it when the desired unit is reached.
FUNCTION SPECIFIC TO THE CHRONO & CHRONO BLUE SECOND TIME-ZONE FUNCTION [12-hour graduated rotatable bezel] The second time-zone function is used to display two time zones simultaneously.The time of the second time zone is read by means of the hour hand, the minute hand and the bidirectional rotatable bezel.

When you move westward, for example from Geneva to Mexico, turn the bezel clockwise, then turn it anticlockwise when you move eastward, for example from Geneva to Tokyo. The triangle engraved on the bezel serves as a benchmark; in neutral position, it stands at 12 o’clock.

Every so often use a soft brush and soapy water to wash waterproof cases and metal, rubber, or fabric bracelets. PVD: Your Black Bay Dark is finished with a black coating obtained using a Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) process. Although the coating is extremely resistant, regular wear and tear can cause this decorative layer to deteriorate over time.
