    At the end of the installation, perform a PING test to check whether the software has been installed correctly. For this purpose a test connection to the AVM Data Call Center (ADC) in Berlin is established over the “pppd” module. This test simulates dialing in to any ISP (Internet Service Provider) us- ing PPP sync in accordance with RFC 1618 over HDLC.

    PING transit time to the AVM server over your ISDN-Controller. This means that installation was suc- cessful. Now you can start a web browser and access the AVM home page. Enter www.avm.de/en. Pre-defined scripts for dialing into different Internet Service Providers over the console are included in the AVM software package.

The CAPI 2.0 drivers supplied with the software support the D-channel protocols DSS1 (Euro-ISDN), NI1, 5ESS and 1TR6.
