I hit something or some combination of buttons on the remote and now the video will not display. It was working fine before.

To fix the video display issue on your Toshiba SDK1000K after accidentally changing settings with the remote:

1. Press the SETUP button on the remote while the DVD player is in stop mode.
2. Use the arrow buttons to select "TV System" from the setup menu.
3. Press the left/right arrow buttons to choose between available settings (such as Default, Screen Saver, HDMI CEC).
4. Press the ENTER button to confirm the selection.
5. Press SETUP again to exit the menu.

Note: If HDMI-CEC is not working, ensure the Video Out is set to “HDMI” and connected components support HDMI-CEC.

The disc tray on your Toshiba SDK1000K may not open for several reasons:

1. Obstruction or Force – If the disc tray was pushed while moving or if objects were placed on it, the mechanism may be jammed.
2. Power Issues – If the player is not receiving power properly, the tray may not function.
3. Malfunction – If the player has been exposed to moisture, overheating, or physical damage, it could prevent the tray from opening.
4. Disc Problems – A cracked, deformed, or improperly inserted disc might be causing the tray to get stuck.

To resolve the issue, ensure the player is powered on, check for obstructions, and avoid forcing the tray open. If the problem persists, unplug the device for a few minutes and try again.

The manual does not provide specific instructions for fixing a DVD holder that won't open. However, you can try the following general steps:

1. Ensure the DVD player is plugged in and turned on.
2. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button on the player or remote.
3. If the tray does not open, unplug the player for a few minutes, then plug it back in and try again.
4. Check if there is a small pinhole near the tray. If present, insert a straightened paperclip gently to manually release the tray.
5. Avoid forcing the tray open, as this may cause damage.
6. If the issue persists, professional servicing may be required.

If none of these steps work, contact a consumer electronics dealer for further assistance.
