To connect a USB printer:

Plug the USB connector into one of the USB ports on
your computer

Plug the printer's power cable into a live AC outlet.
To connect a parallel printer:

Connect the printer cable to the printer and to the
computer's parallel port.

Setting up your printer
Setting up a printer involves selecting a printer driver. This
special program acts as a translator that turns your document
into a form the printer can understand.
If you are using any non-Windows
driver for each of those programs. Refer to your program's
documentation for more information.
Connecting the parallel printer cable while the computer is on
may damage the printer, the computer, or both.
