Installation Dimensions 2.4.2. The body of the EASZ-2 is standard on all units. The Sensor Pipe will vary according to customer requirements depending on pipeline size, type of connection, built-in mixer and sampling point. Specific drawings are provided for each order, please check your specification with the unit delivered. Dimensions for pipes 1”...
3. How the EA SZ-2 Works 3.1. Unit Description The EASZ-2 comprises 2 main parts: the Body and the Sensor Pipe. The Body has two main parts, the base and the cover which screws onto the base. Both parts are die- cast aluminium and powder-coated and the cover also has a safety glass viewing window.
3.3. Functionality The EASZ-2 Water-In-Oil Monitor (Water-Cut / BS&W) is designed to continuously measure the water content in hydrocarbon fluids: ■ Accurately ■ Reliably ■ Provide a linear analog or digital output The fluid being measured flows through a fixed electrode assembly in the sensor pipe which measures the dielectric constant as a variable capacitance across the electrode.
(threaded or flanged) added to the pipe work between the mixer (if installed) and the unit, the sampling point can be ordered from EESIFLO as a part of the Sensor Pipe and Mixer (if required). EASZ-2 Manual v1.12 - 12.2.2018...

4.9. Intrinsic Safety When using EASZ-2Ex, the unit must only be connected to intrinsically safe certified equipment. This association must be compatible to the intrinsic safety rules. The electrical parameters of this equipment must not exceed the values indicated in the “ATEX Specification” table. When using EASZ-2Ex the unit is intrinsically safe and an intrinsically safe isolator must be used before the power supply in the safe zone and any units in the hazardous area.
5. Operation The display is located on the unit behind the round viewing window. The display consists of a colour backlight and a graphical display which show the status and other information. 5.1. Start up When the unit is powered up, the current version and date of the display board and control board firmware are shown.
6. Software The Software supplied is used to configured and calibrate the EASZ-2. A computer is connected to a unit either by using the USB-RS or USB-CL communication cable. Connecting directly to a unit using a Com Cable must NOT be performed in a hazardous area. 6.1.
6.3. Software Description The EASZ-2 software has one main window with 3 tabs. Main Window 6.3.1. The main window contains: “Com Port” is used to set the communicate port with the computer. “Sampling Interval” is used to sets the rate at which the software readings are updated.
10% water. Once the unit is mounted on site it requires either a High-Point or a Two-Point Calibration. EESIFLO also design and supply calibration loops for customers who have higher accuracy requirements. Contact EESIFLO for further information on how we can be of assistance in this area. 7.2. On-site Calibration...
7.3. Lab Calibration Service EESIFLO also offer a Laboratory Calibration Service whereby customers can send their exact oil and unit to an EESIFLO authorized Service Centre for exact Calibration. This type of calibration is most beneficial when users who simply want to have the instrument supplied for an application and have the highest “out of the box”...
If this calibration is performed correctly the accuracy of the readings is ± 0.1%. Should a higher accuracy of ± 0.05% be required it is necessary to use the factory calibration service from an EESIFLO authorized service centre. To calibrate the unit correctly follow the instructions:...
8. Maintenance, Ser vicing and Spare Parts 8.1. Maintenance In general the EASZ-2 does not require any regular user maintained or service. Occasional visual inspections are however recommended. Visual Inspection 8.1.1. When the unit is inspected visually check for any signs of damage to the cables, glands, body, the glass viewing window or leaking petroleum products.
8.2. Troubleshooting Indication Cause Solutions The display is OFF The unit does not have a power Connect the Unit to the specified power supply supply Change fuse FU1 – type SR-5-T500 mA The display is OFF Fuse FU1 is blown The backlight (green, yellow or red) is The backlight is not activated Using the control software on a laptop...
RS Connection Box 8.3.3. The RS Connection Box is used to help make configuration of units on RS485 buses easier and quicker rather than opening individual units (standard and pre-wired option). 8.4. Spare Parts Only spare parts from the manufacturer can be used for repairs, otherwise this invalidates the warranty and the whole product.
EESIFLO guarantees the certification of the equipment Ex-Works and our standard terms and conditions apply – available upon request. Any action on the unit other than software changes will invalidate the warranty and EESIFLO will not indemnify the customer for any costs incurred.
