Installation Instructions

Disconnect supply voltage!
Radio transmission, as are all "open" transmission techniques, is subject to the
applicable basic physical laws. In order to prevent range reduction in the case of
radio transmission and also in the case of the Transcontrol HF, the following
instructions must be adhered to:
INSTRUCTIONS
• Do not install HF Receiver 6866 AG on a metallic base.
• Do not wrap supply lines around the Transmitter (e.g., Transmitter Module, Art.
No. 6860) when installing.
• The installation height should not be below 1.5 m. The general rule is: the higher
the device is installed, the better the reception.
• When installing/operating, align the printed side of a transmitter with the front
or back of the receiver.
• Install several receivers or transmitters, respectively, one below the other with
a minimum spacing of 0.5 m.
• If the range is reduced, try to improve this by relocating the device. The
transmission characteristics can be considerably improved even by moving the
device only a few centimetres.
• When disconnecting inductive loads such as relays, transformers, etc., voltage
peaks in the order of 3 to 4 kV can occur. In the case of functional disturbances
connected with these types of consumers, install an RC element (Art. No.
6899) or an appropriate surge arrester parallel to the inductive load.
