Function Setting

Normal setting
The system automatically cools or heats depending on
the outside temperature and the selected interior temper­
ature.
In the cooling mode, air is directed only to the adjust­
able air outlets (7), (8) and (9).
In the heating mode, warm air is primarily directed to

the foot area and additionally to the ducts in the front
doors.
In the heating mode, air will also be periodically emit­
ted from the adjustable air outlets (7).
Enough air is supplied to the windshield and to the
side windows to keep the glass free of fog in normal
weather conditions.
At low outside temperatures, fan operation does not
start until the engine coolant has warmed up.

EC (ECONOMY) = Economical setting
The function of this setting corresponds to the ''Normal"
setting, however, because the air conditioning com­
pressor will not engage (fuel savings), it is not possible to
air condition in this setting.
