Next, adjust the combined torso and shoulder straps and proceed as described
above. Before finally shortening the straps, ensure that there is a gap of
approx. 3 cm between the pull loops and the guide loops for the shoulder straps. Pad
the shoulder straps in the armpit region using the enclosed strap pads.
12
To reduce tension to the armpits and avoid strangulation, you can correct
the course of the strap by changing the position of the dorsal guide loops
(attached to the back plate with Velcro). The level of the costal arch serves as a
reference point.
13
In order to achieve ideal straightening of the patient, then use the pull loops in
sync to tighten the torso and shoulder straps. Avoid overcorrection.
To reduce tension or remove the brace, tilt the shoulder strap's guide loops downwards
and upwards with your thumbs as for a rucksack [Image 3]. Check the correct fit of the
brace: Are the harnesses too tight or do they cut in?
Dynamic setting of the brace
Step 1 [Image 4] Remove the Velcro protector on the lower inner side of the brace.
Then, remove the back plate from the splint bag with the attached reinforcement
module.
Step 2 [Image 5] Detach the connecting clasps which connect the reinforcement
module to the back plate. For this, press the side lever on the grey clasp downwards,
spread it apart and push the clasp away outwards.
Step 3 [Image 4] Then, push the back element back into the brace and tighten the
Velcro protector.
Step 4 [Image 14] To realise dynamic reclination, the overlay which can be attached
using Velcro in the shoulder height region must be removed.
Information: Store the reinforcement plate and overlay carefully in their packaging.
During later care phases, it may be necessary to again make more stable settings.
