Do you have a question about the 63319 and is the answer not in the manual?
Questions and answers
Can this pump be left submerged long term within a cistern water tank? We would be using it to transfer water (daily) into the holding tank for water useage in our 5th wheel.
The Drummond 63319 submersible pump is designed for temporary water removal and not for long-term continuous submersion. It must be installed in a stationary position and should not be suspended by the delivery pipe or power cord. Additionally, it is designed for use with water at a maximum temperature of 77°F (25°C) and must be protected from frost. Given these factors, it is not suitable for long-term use in a cistern water tank for daily water transfer.

Pump needs to be manually, spun for it to run. Continuously will not turn on when plugged in, but one manually spawn the impeller spins.
If the Drummond pump (part number 63319) only runs when the impeller is manually spun, the issue could be one of the following:
1. Flow Switch Malfunction – The flow switch may not be operating correctly, preventing the pump from turning on automatically.
2. Impeller Blockage – Dirt or debris may be preventing the impeller from spinning freely. Cleaning the impeller with clean water could help.
3. Motor Start Capacitor Issue – If the pump’s motor has a start capacitor, a failure could prevent the pump from starting on its own.
4. Electrical Connection Problem – A loose or faulty electrical connection may be limiting power to the motor, causing it to need manual assistance to start.
5. Worn or Damaged Motor Components – Internal motor components, such as brushes or bearings, may be worn, reducing the motor’s ability to start independently.
To troubleshoot, check the impeller for obstructions, test the flow switch manually, and inspect the electrical connections. If the problem persists, professional servicing may be required.
