- Page 5 Figure (1) Push Rod Locking Slot Operation The staple gun has two safety features to ensure that the staples are not fired in error or when the stapler is not in contact with the workpiece. The safety element must be depressed and the trigger safety lock must be pushed to the left to allow the trigger to operate.
