Symptom
4. Fires and then fails

If using a thermostat
Possible Cause
Contaminated fuel supply
Dirty fuel filter
Improper air flow causing a poor
flame. The CAD cell may shut
unit off with a poor flame.
Plugged nozzle or pre-heater
assembly
Improper power supply
Nozzle is dirty or clogged
Improper Air flow
Improper fuel flow rate
Generator is low on charge
Loose wires
Tip switch is closed
Bad Light
Defective primary control circuit
board
Check temperature setting.
Check for loose wires
Defective thermostat
Corrective Action
Drain tank from side plug, clean,
and fill with clean fuel.
Clean and replace filter
Adjust air band setting to 1.50
and test flame. See air band
adjustement on Figure 3-1.
Clean or replace nozzle
Check power supply. If using a
generator, run generator for 20
minutes and retry. If using an
inverter, try a clean power
supply. Try different power
supply.
Replace nozzle
Adjust air band to 1.5 position
Adjust fuel flow rate
Only after replacing nozzle
Run generator for 20 minutes,
then plug in SunFire unit and
restart.
Check all power and tip-switch
wires for cut or loose wires and
secure or fix if needed.
Level SunFire or replace tip
switch.
Replace light
Replace primary control
Set thermostat to a higher
temperature if desired.
Tighten wires for improved
connection to thermostat.
Replace thermostat.
Note: Thermostat must not
require an external 24V power
source - if used it will damage
the primary.
