III. WARNINGS AND SAFETY MEASURES
Failure to follow these instructions could lead to injury and
damage to the appliance. The manufacturer is not liable for
damage/injury resulting from failure to follow these instruc-
tions.
Caution: the use of any electrical appliance calls for the
awareness of some basic rules. In particular:
-electrical installation in the place of use must comply
with applicable safety legislation.
-Ensure that the voltage and frequency (see data plate located
underneath the appliance) correspond to those of the mains.
Caution: for safety reasons, the appliance must always
be connected to a system with a working earth connec-
tion.
- Connect the appliance to an easily accessible power socket.
- Do not pull the power cord or the appliance itself to remove
the plug from the socket.
- This appliance is for domestic use in accordance with the in-
structions only. Any other use is considered improper and there-
fore dangerous.
It is not intended to be used in: rooms used as a kitchen for staff
in shops, offices and other work areas, hotels, motels and other
accommodation facilities, rooms for rent. The manufacturer is
not responsible for any damage caused by improper, incorrect
or unreasonable use.
- The appliance, its accessories and its packaging materials are
not toys and should not be left within reach of children as they
are potential sources of danger. Children should be supervised
to ensure they do not play with the appliance, its accessories or
the packaging components.
- This appliance is not suitable for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities,
or who lack experience and knowledge, unless they are super-
vised or instructed as to its use by a person responsible for their
safety.
- This appliance is for indoor use only and should therefore not
be exposed to sun, rain or other elements.
- Never immerse the appliance or the detachable power cord
in water or in any other liquid. Never touch them with wet or
damp hands and never use the appliance with bare or wet feet
or near jets of water.
Caution: do not touch the appliance if it is accidentally
dropped in water. Unplug it immediately and do not use
it again. Contact trained, qualified personnel or Artsana
S.p.A..
- In the event of a fault with and/or malfunctioning of the ap-
pliance, switch it off and unplug it. Do not attempt to open it or
repair it, but contact technically trained, qualified personnel or
Artsana S.p.A. customer service.
- Always place the appliance on a flat, stable surface, away from
heat-sensitive equipment or materials, steam and moisture.
Never place the appliance on or near hot surfaces, gas stoves or
electric hot plates, or on delicate surfaces.
- Keep the appliance, the power cord and the blade unit out of
reach of children.
- Never leave the appliance unattended while in use.
- Do not operate the appliance when it is empty.
- Never cover the appliance during operation or when it is still
hot.
- Do not leave the appliance switched on unnecessarily, as this
is potentially dangerous.
- The appliance must not be operated using an external timer or
a separate remote control.
- Before use, check that all components (in particular the jug
and the base) are properly assembled.
- Make sure hands, hair, clothes and kitchen utensils are out of
the jug before operating the appliance. Use the spatula when
the appliance is off.
- Before starting the heating and steaming stages, make sure
the steam outlet is not obstructed.
In cooking mode, always use the basket provided for
cooking food or alternatively use the support for heating
jars, paying particular attention to steam.
During the heating and steaming stages, hot
steam comes out of the steam outlet and jug that
could scald. The boiler, the container and all the
parts in contact with the steam become very hot: always pay
attention and handle carefully.
During the heating/cooking cycle, if steam comes
out from the edges of the boiler cap, this indicates
that there is an operating fault in the steam cir-
cuit: do not open or remove the boiler cap. Turn the appliance
off immediately and leave it to cool down completely. The ap-
pliance must not be used again and trained, qualified personnel
or Artsana S.p.A. must be contacted to check it.
Do not use the product if liquid is leaking from the appli-
ance body. In this case, turn off the appliance immedi-
ately and unplug it.
Never remove the lid of the jug during cooking or
blending. Boiling liquids could leak out suddenly,
causing scalding and/or burning.
At the end of the cooking cycle, while the appli-
ance is hot, remove the lid slowly and carefully,
paying particular attention to the hot steam, in
order to prevent scalding. The top handle on the drum for cook-
ing food (and/or alternatively on the support for heating jars/
baby food) may be very hot.
- Before opening/removing the boiler cap, turn the appliance off
and wait at least 2 minutes.
- Make sure the appliance is always unplugged and completely
