    ETSI NET5, EuroISDN, National ISDN-2, Lucent 5ESS, and Nortel DMS-100. The PIKA T1/E1 Gateway is available with 1, 2, 3 or 4 T1/E1 spans for connection to the PSTN and includes an Ethernet port for connection to the IP network. PIKA T1/E1 Gateway offers software expandable densities; users can start with a lower-cost 1 or 2 T1/E1 span solution and upgrade later to more capacity simply by downloading a software update.

    PIKA FormulaT1/E1 Gateway 1.0 User Guide Getting Started - Hardware Installation Power Connection Connect a power cable to the rear AC socket and connect to your AC electrical outlet. (The gateway's auto-sensing power supply can be plugged into either 110V or 220V electrical service.) T1/E1 Connections Connect up to four T1/E1 spans to your gateway's RJ48C connectors as shown below.

    The PIKA T1/E1 Gateway is shipped with all the required software already installed. The basic configuration can be performed from a standard web browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer. While the PIKA T1/E1 Gateway has been designed to make configuration as simple and straightforward as possible, it is still necessary to have some detailed information about your network, SIP registration server as well as the ISDN trunks from your telephone service provider.

The System Settings screen allows users to configure the network settings and change the login password that allows access to the graphical user interface.

User Agent User The SIP username you chose for your gateway. e.g. GrandPrix500. The username is also the ID used for registration with Name the SIP Proxy/Registrar.

Least Cost Routing When a SIP call is received, the gateway looks at the 'to' field information and if the "trunk" string is found in the called party information, the next character specifies what span the call should be routed on.

The 'System is stopped' message is displayed when the gateway application has been stopped. The channel state is shown in the 'Channel Summary' section. All the provisioned ISDN and SIP channels are individually represented by multi-colored characters.
  • Page 36 Activating Additional Licenses When PIKA Technologies receives a purchase order for additional licenses, a 32-character registration key is generated for each feature. The registration keys are sent to an email address associated with the order. A file, licensekeys.txt, containing the registration key information is attached to the email.
