  • Page 9 STEP 1 Insert small wood dowels (9) into the ends of left top shelf (F) and left bottom shelf (G). Attach the shelves (F & G) to front left post (A) and back left post (B) with joint connectors (10) and Allen key (8) as shown. Insert small wood dowels (9) into the holes of front left post (A) and back left post (B) as shown.

  • Page 11 STEP 3 Insert small wood dowels (9) into the ends of right top shelf (H) and right bottom shelf (I). Attach the shelves (H & I) to back right post (C) and front right post (D) with joint connectors (10) and Allen key (8) as shown. Insert small wood dowels (9) into the holes of back right post (C) and front right post (D) as shown.

Attach the headboard rails (E) to right posts (C & D) with joint connectors (10) and Allen key (8) as shown. Secure the shelves (H & I) to right posts (C & D) with joint connectors (10) and Allen key (8) as shown.
  • Page 13 IMPORTANT - Skip this step if you purchased the Desk & Shelf Kit model DA7789D. - If you did not purchase the Desk and Shelf Kit, skip step 6 & 7 after completing step 5. STEP 5 Insert large wood dowels (7) into ends of the bottom guardrail (V) and attach it to back posts (B & C) with wood joint connectors (3) and Allen key (8) as shown.
  • Page 14 STEP 6 Insert large wood dowel (7) into left end of the bottom guardrail (V) and attach it to left back post(B) with wood joint connector (3) and Allen key (8) as shown. Insert barrel nuts (5) into left end of back side rail (J) and attach it to left back post(B) with joint connectors (1).
  • Page 15 STEP 7 Insert large wood dowel (7) into the other end of bottom guardrail (V) and attach it to right back post (C) with wood joint connector (3) and Allen key (8). Insert barrel nuts (5) into the other end of back side rail (J) and attach it to right back post (C) with joint connectors (1).
  • Page 16 NOTE- the illustrations in Step 8 -14 will not show the desk (U) and shelf (T) for clarity. STEP 8 With the help of another person, turn the unit up right. Insert barrel nut (5) into front side rail (K), Attach front side rail (K) to front left post (A) and front right post (D) with joint connectors (1) and Allen key (8) as shown.
  • Page 17 STEP 9 Attach short guardrail post (S) to short guardrail (N) with joint connectors (10) and Allen key (8). Attach short guardrail (N) to front left post (A) with wood joint connectors (3). Secure short guardrail post (S) to front side rail (K) with joint connectors (10), hex cap (11) and Allen key (8) as shown.
  • Page 18 STEP 10 Secure the back side rail (J) to back posts (B & C) with joint connectors (10) and Allen key (8) as shown. Attach the front side rail (K) to front posts (A & D) with joint connectors (10) and Allen key (8) as shown.
  • Page 19 STEP 11 Insert large wood dowels (7) into the ends of the ladder steps (Q). Attach left ladder end (O) and right ladder end (P) to ladder steps (Q) with wood joint connectors (2) and Allen key (8) as shown.
  • Page 20 STEP 12 Attach the ladder to the front side rail (K) with wood joint connectors (2) and Allen key (8). Attach the right ladder end (P) to the front right post (D) with wood joint connectors (2) and Allen key (8).
  • Page 21 STEP 13 Attach one slat (L) onto side rails (J & K) of the top bunk with flat head screws (4). Make sure the slat touches the corner posts (as close to the headboard as possible). Attach the other slats (L) onto the side rails (J & K) with flat head screws (4). Use space block (W) to space them out evenly as shown.
  • Page 22 STEP 14 Attach two guardrail legs (R) to the long guardrail (M) and back side rail (J) with flat head screws (6) as shown. Attach the other guardrail leg (R) (on the inside of the bed) to short guardrail (N) and front side rail (K) with flat head screws (6) as shown.
