2 Hinweise für den sicheren Gebrauch
Dieses Gerät entspricht den EU-Richtlinien Nr.
89/336/EWG für elektromagnetische Verträglichkeit
und Nr. 73/23/EWG für Niederspannungsgeräte.
Das Gerät wird mit lebensgefährlicher Netzspan-
nung (230 V~) versorgt. Nehmen Sie deshalb nie-
mals selbst Eingriffe im Gerät vor. Durch unsach-
gemäßes Vorgehen besteht die Gefahr eines
elektrischen Schlages. Außerdem erlischt beim
Öffnen des Gerätes jeglicher Garantieanspruch.
Beachten Sie für den Betrieb auch unbedingt die fol-
genden Punkte:
•
Vorsicht! Bei starker Anhebung von Frequenz-
bandpegeln, vor allem im Baß- und Hochtonbe-
reich, können Lautsprecher schnell überlastet und
zerstört werden.
•
Das Gerät ist nur zur Verwendung in Räumen
geeignet.
•
Schützen Sie das Gerät vor Feuchtigkeit und
Hitze.
•
Das Gerät nicht in Betrieb nehmen und sofort den
Netzstecker ziehen, wenn:
1. sichtbare Schäden am Gerät oder an der Netz-
anschlußleitung vorhanden sind,
2. nach einem Sturz oder ähnlichem der Verdacht
auf einen Defekt besteht,

2 Safety Notes
This appliance corresponds to the EC Directives No.
89/336/EWG for electromagnetic compatibility and
No. 73/23/EWG for low voltage appliances.
This unit uses lethally high voltage (230 V~). To
prevent a shock hazard do not open the cabinet.
Leave servicing to authorized skilled personnel
only. Any guarantee claim expires if the unit has
been opened.
For the operation also watch in any case the follow-
ing items:
•
Caution! With extensive boosting, mainly of the
bass and tweeter ranges, the speakers may
quickly be overloaded and destroyed.
•
The unit is only suitable for indoor use.
•
Avoid excessively warm locations for the unit or
high humidity.
•
Do not set the unit into operation and immediately
take the mains plug out of the mains socket if:
1. damage at the unit or mains cable can be seen,
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or
similar accident,
3. there are malfunctions.
The unit must in any case be repaired by author-
ized skilled personnel.
•
Never pull the mains plug out of the mains socket
by means of the mains cable.
•
If the unit is used for purposes other than originally
intended, if it is operated in the wrong way or not

Wasser.
3 Einsatzmöglichkeiten
Der Equalizer MEQ-2311 ist hauptsächlich zur Anpas-
sung einer Musikanlage an die Raumakustik konzi-
piert. Dazu sind 31 Regler zum Anheben und Absen-
ken von Frequenzbandpegeln im Bereich von 20 Hz
bis 20 kHz für einen Kanal vorhanden. Der Regelbe-
reich dieser Regler läßt sich von ±6 dB auf ±15 dB
umschalten. Der integrierte Rosa-Rauschgenerator
dient in Verbindung mit einem Spektrum-Analyzer
oder mit einem gutgeschulten Gehör zur optimalen
Einstellung. Durch die vielfältigen Einstellmöglichkei-
ten kann der MEQ-2311 auch zur sonstigen Fre-
quenzgangkorrektur und -anpassung von Geräten mit
Line-Pegeln verwendet werden.
4 Aufstellmöglichkeiten
Der Equalizer ist für den Einschub in ein 19"-Rack
vorgesehen. Bei einer anderen Aufstellung, z. B. in
einer Schrankwand, können die seitlichen Winkel
abgeschraubt werden.
5 Equalizer anschließen
Der Equalizer wird je nach Anwendung z. B. zwi-
schen Vorverstärker und Endstufe, zwischen Misch-
pult und Endstufe oder in einen Effektweg eines
Mischpultes geschaltet. Bei Stereosignalen sind
natürlich zwei Equalizer erforderlich.

The wires in this mains lead are coloured in ac-
cordance with the following code:
green / yellow = earth
blue = neutral
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug,
proceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow
must be connected to the terminal in the plug
which is marked with the letter E or by the earth
symbol
, or coloured green or green and yel-
low.
2. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the let-
ter N or coloured black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the let-
ter L or coloured red.
Warning - This appliance must be earthed.
3 Applications
The equalizer MEQ-2311 is mainly designed for
matching a HiFi system to the room acoustics. For
this, 31 controls for boosting and attenuating of fre-
quency band levels in the range of 20 Hz up to
20 kHz are provided for one channel. The range of
these controls can be switched over from ±6 dB to
±15 dB. The integrated pink noise generator in con-
nection with a spectrum analyzer or a well-trained
hearing serves for an optimum adjustment. Due to
the versatile adjusting facilities the MEQ-2311 can
also be used for any other frequency response equal-
ization and adjustment of units with line level.
