Intended use
this product is intended to be used to connect a device with an RS232 interface to a
USB port on a PC.
Please read the operating instructions carefully and do not discard them. Observe all
safety information and other information in these operating instructions.
Any use other than that described above could lead to damage to the product and
involves a risk of short circuits, fire, electric shock, etc.

1. Open www.conrad.com/downloads in a browser or scan the
displayed QR code.
2. Select document type and language and enter the item num-

• Unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is not al-

product must not be exposed to extreme temperature, direct sunlight or
strong vibrations.
• Do not leave the packaging material unattended, as it can be a dangerous

structions, please contact our technical department or another specialist.
Driver installation
• Place the provided installation CD in the appropriate drive on your PC.
• Start the setup program on the CD (e.g. "setup.exe") and follow all instructions from
the setup program or from Windows.
Newer driver versions may have a different procedure. In such case, please
refer to the CD contents and any information provided there.
Connection
Install the driver first, if you have not yet done so; see the section "Driver
installation".
• Connect the USB plug on the USB RS232 cable to a USB port on your computer.
• Windows recognises the new hardware and completes the driver installation.
• After the installation has been completed, it may be necessary to restart the opera-
ting system before the product will work properly.
• The 9-pin SubD plug on the adapter can now be connected to a corresponding
RS232 port on a device.
If the device is equipped with a 25-pin RS232 port, the adapter supplied can
be used.
Disposal
The product must not be disposed of with the household waste.
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the
current statutory requirements.
