• Never pour any liquids above or next to the product. You run the risk of
causing a fire or a fatal electric shock.
If any liquid has still happened to enter the device, immediately turn
off the power supply to the mains socket to which the safety switch is
connected (turn off the fuse/circuit breaker/residual current operated
circuit breaker of the associated circuits).
Only then can you unplug the safety switch from the mains socket and
contact a specialist. Do not use the product any longer.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the
Employer's Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and
Operating Facilities are to be observed!
• If you have any questions that are not answered in these operating
instructions, please contact our technical department or another spe-
cialist.
Assembly
The window or door at which the magnetic sensor/magnet of the safety
switch is to be installed must create a pressure balance between the inte-
rior (where the exhaust fan unit is operated) and the exterior (outside the
house).
The magnetic sensor at the end of the cable and the magnet must be attached
such that they lie next to each other. The distance may be a maximum of ap-
prox. 13 mm (see figure above).
The magnetic sensor and the magnet must also be at the same height. The
provided installation material makes it possible to adjust or level the heights
with different surfaces/windows/doors.
We recommend first installing the magnetic sensor and the magnet tem-
porarily and then carrying out a function test.
This way, you can correct the installation position if the safety switch
does not execute a correct switch process when the window (or the door)
is opened/closed.
The magnetic sensor and the magnet can be screwed down or secured with
a piece of double-sided tape. One could also imagine attaching the magnet
without the installation material, e.g. with a drop of hot glue or a cable tie.
The magnetic sensor is inserted in the housing base mounted on the window/
door frame; the magnet is to be inserted in the housing base mounted on the
casement/door.
Then attach the upper part of the housings. For the cable to the safety switch,
you must carefully break out the opening at the marked position on the upper
part of the housing.
The magnet is always installed on the moving part of the window or
door, the magnetic sensor on the part of the window or door frame that
stays still.
Important!
Installation on or near ferromagnetic materials (e.g. steel door) can
cause function problems. Keep a sufficient distance here; use e.g. the
provided spacers. In every case, use anti-magnetic screws to secure the
installation material.
If the safety switch does not trigger correctly, install the magnetic sensor/
magnet on another window or another door.
When laying the cable between the magnetic sensor and the safety switch,
make sure that it cannot be damaged by sharp edges.
Start-up
• Type plates in different languages are included in the package. If necessary,
glue the type plate for your language over the existing type plate.
• Connect the safety switch to a standard mains socket.
• Connect the exhaust fan unit (e.g. an exhaust hood, a ventilation dryer, etc.)
to the socket on the front of the safety switch.
• Switch on the exhaust fan unit. Open the window or the door on which you
have installed the magnetic sensor and the magnet.
The exhaust fan unit must turn on after the window or door opens. The red
LED indicator on the front of the safety switch must light up.
• Close the window or the door. The exhaust fan unit must turn off.
If the exhaust fan unit does not turn on or off correctly, check the distance
between the magnetic sensor and the magnet and their position relative
to one another.

Operation

• Open the window or door first before you switch on the exhaust fan device.
The red LED indicator on the front of the safety switch lights up.
• Switch on the exhaust fan device and, if necessary, select the desired speed
(if possible).
• After use, switch the exhaust fan unit off again. Close the window or the
door if necessary.
If you have forgotten to open the window or door before switching on the
exhaust fan unit, the safety switch prevents the exhaust fan unit from turn-
ing on and thus prevents the creation of low pressure in your rooms.
A slight warming of the safety switch during operation is normal.

Maintenance and cleaning

• The product is maintenance-free for you. The product contains no parts that
require servicing. Therefore, do not open it.
Maintenance or repairs may only be performed by qualified personnel or a
specialised repair shop.
• Switch off the safety switch and disconnect it from the mains voltage before
cleaning.
• To clean the outside of the product, a dry, soft and clean cloth is sufficient.
• Dust can be easily removed using a clean, soft and long-bristled brush and
a vacuum cleaner.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, cleaning alcohol or other chemical
solutions since these could damage the housing or even impair operation.
Disposal
The product must not be disposed of with the household waste.
Dispose of the product at the end of its serviceable life in accordance
with the current statutory requirements; e.g., return it to any suitable
collection point.
