4. P4600/P6000 only: If earth monitoring is desired, connect the Fence earth monitor
terminal (black) to a separate earth stake. For more information, see "Earth monitoring" on
page 56.
5. Connect the Fence full voltage terminal (red) or the Fence half voltage terminal (yellow) to
the fence.
6. Connect the energiser to the mains/line power using the mains/line power adaptor provided
Note: If the energiser is being installed indoors it may be powered by a battery instead of
the mains/line power adaptor, if desired.
Installing the energiser outdoors
The energiser may be installed outdoors, powered by a battery.
Warning!
• Do not power the energiser with the mains/line power if it is being installed outdoors.

To install the energiser outdoors:
1. Select a suitable installation site. See "Selecting a site for the installation of the
energiser" on page 51.
2. Hang the energiser on a fence wire or
mount the energiser on a post. Use the
template printed on the back cover of this
manual, if required.
3. Connect the Fence earth terminal (green)
to the energiser earth system.
4. P4600/P6000 only: If earth monitoring is
desired, connect the Fence earth monitor
terminal (black) to a separate earth stake

5. Connect the Fence full voltage terminal (red) or the Fence half voltage terminal (yellow)
to the fence.
6. Connect the energiser to the battery using the battery leads provided. Attach the red clip to
the positive (+) terminal of the battery, and the black clip to its negative (–) terminal.
Note: If desired, this energiser can be used as part of a solar installation, by connecting it to a
solar panel and a battery. For further information about solar installations, please refer to our
"Electric Fencing Catalogue".
