BALANCE WEIGHT ARRANGEMENT AND CARTRIDGE BALANCE RANGE

The cartridge balance range of the Series V-12 is 5 to 21g; however this may be extended as follows:
1. Remove the stylus assembly or fit the stylus guard to the cartridge. If this is not possible, remove the
cartridge and refit when balance weight adjustments have been completed.
2. With the arm secured in the armrest, unlock the balance weight by moving the weight clamp lever anti-
clockwise and unscrew and remove the central 8BA Instrument Head Screw.
3. The Weight Clamp Lever can now be removed by lifting it upwards from the weight clamp nut, using a
slight rocking movement.
4. Whilst supporting the balance weight assembly with one hand from below, unscrew and remove the
Weight Clamp Nut. The clamp lever may be used to assist with unscrewing the clamp nut.
5. Lower the balance weight assembly to release it from the pick-up arm. Take care to retain the Weight
Clamp Washer and spring for refitting.
6. Unscrew and remove the two M3 Socket Head Cap Screws to release the balance weight insert, as
shown above.
7. Up to two additional Accessory Weights may be added extending the maximum cartridge balance
range to 26.5g and 32g respectively.
