ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
Make the electrical connections according to the
national laws and regulations in force
• The wiring diagrams included do not take into
account earthing or other types of electrical protec-
tion required by local laws, regulations, codes and
standards or by the local electricity supplier.
• Before installing the fan coil, check that the nominal
power supply voltage is compliant with the operating
limits.
• The power supply must always be connected to the
L, N and PE terminals on the board.
The maximum power/current draw for 230 Vac opera-
tion is shown in the following table:

Ensure that the electrical system is able to deliver, in
addition to the operating current required by the fan
coil unit, the current needed to power any other appli-
ances and units already in use.
If combining the a-CXW cassette fan coil
with electronic controllers, the voltage val-
ues at the autotransformer terminals must
be considered (transformer return voltag-
es). These values may reach 500 Vac.
• A disconnect switch must be installed upstream of
the unit, with a contact opening that allows complete
disconnection under overvoltage category III condi-
tions.
• The unit must always be earthed.
• Always disconnect the power supply before access-
ing the unit.

Connection instructions
The cassette fan coils are fitted with a board with screw
terminal block for connecting the wires from the remote
control.
The installer must run the connection cables into the
unit through the openings provided.
Power, control and valve cables
• The board mounted on the fan coil is already set up
for connection to the various control units, accord-
ing to the instructions provided in the "Controls and
wiring diagrams" section.
• The connections must be made in accordance with
the wiring diagrams shown in this booklet.
• The installer must run the connection cables into the
unit through the openings provided.
• Only one fan coil can be connected to the control
unit; to control several fan coils with one control
unit, each appliance must be equipped with a SEL-S
speed selector that will activate the individual appli-
ance based on a centralised remote control signal.
Electrical equipment
• The motor is protected by a built-in thermal overload
switch on the winding, which shuts the motor down in
the event of overheating, and restarts it automatically
after it has cooled down.
• The board is fitted with a terminal block for connect-
ing the power supply, for speed control, for valve con-
trol and for connecting the safety device.
• Each terminal can house two cables of the same
cross-section (max. 1.5 mm²).
• In cooling mode, the electronic board mounted on the
appliance controls and manages the operation of the
condensate drain pump.
• A level control on the unit starts the drain pump and,
if the condensate level reaches the safety limit, the
water valve power supply is shut off.
• A safety relay with switching contact can send the
alarm status via a remote signal.
