To turn on the Cooke & Lewis CLCER60:

1. Press the ON/OFF key. All indicators will show "0".
2. Select the desired cooking zone by pressing the zone key (A). The selected "0" symbol stays lit; other zone indicators turn off.
3. Set the power level by pressing "+" (C) to increase or "–" (B) to decrease. Power levels range from 0 to 9.
4. The zone key (A) and residual heat indicator "H" blink alternately for 20 seconds when power returns to zero.
5. The "H" indicator stays on until the cooking zone cools to a safe level.
