    TO CHANGE THE TOP COVER UNIT To remove: 1. Loosen two screws (A) through hole of tension thread guide plate (B), and remove the top cover (C). To attach: 2. Put the ribs (D) in tension cover unit (E), and tighten the setscrews (A).

    TO ADJUST THE NEEDLE BAR HEIGHT The distance between the tip of needle on the right and the surface of needle plate (B) should be between 11.2 and 11 .6 mm when the needle bar (C) is at the highest position. To adjust: 1.

    TO ADJUST THE PRESSER BAR HEIGHT The distance between the surface of needle plate (C) and bottom of presser foot should be between 4.7 and 5.3 mm (47/254 and 53/254”) when the presser bar lifter (D) is raised. To adjust: 1.

    TO ADJUST THE FEED DOG HEIGHT When the presser foot is lowered and the feed dogs•i A •• B•j are at their highest position, the distance between the surface of needle plate (C) and bottom of presser foot should be between 0.75 and 0.95 mm.

    TIMING OF NEEDLE AND FEED DOG When the tip of right needle is at 2 mm (J) above the needle plate in its downward motion, and lowered presser foot, the top of the feed dog teeth (K) should be leveled with the top surface of needle plate (L) at the end of feed movement (M).

    TO ADJUST THE NEEDLE AND THE UPPER KNIFE TIMING When the needle bar is at its highest position the upper knife should be also at its highest posi- tion. To adjust: 1. Remove the feed base cover. 2. Loosen the two setscrews (A) and remove the balance weight (F). 3.

    TO ADJUST THE STITCH LENGTH The actual stitch length should be 2.8 to 3.0 mm when the stitch dial is set at “3”. To adjust: 1. Set the stitch length dial (C) at “3” and the differential feed dial (D) at “1.0”. 2.

    TO ADJUST THE CLEARANCE BETWEEN EEDLE AND LOWER LOOPER I NEEDLE GUARDS When the tip of lower looper (G) comes from the left just behind the needle (I) on the left or right, the clearance between both needles and lower looper (G) should be between 0 and 0.1 mm. In this condition, the clearance between both needles and rear needle guard (H) should be between 0 and 0.2 mm.

    TO ADJUST THE CLEARANCE BETWEEN NEEDLES AND FIXED NEEDLE GUARD The clearance between needle (B) and the fixed needle guard (C) should be 0.1 to 0.4 mm (D). To adjust: 1. Remove the foot and the needle plate and lower the needle to its lowest position. 2.
