Ignition system
Adjust the air gap.
502 50 19-01
When there is still no ignition spark,
first check the ignition coil's primary
winding.
Measured value: 0,75 - 0,92 Ω.
The ignition coil should be replaced
when the measured values are not met.
Now check the ignition coil's secondary
winding.
Measured value: 6,1 – 9,3 kΩ.
The ignition coil should be replaced
when the measured values are not met.
Replacing the spark
plug cover
1. Insert the ignition cable through the
spark plug cover.
2. Make a hole in the ignition cable for
the ignition coil.

Adjust the air gap as needed to the
correct value.
•
Loosen the bolts.
•
Position the feeler gauge and press
the ignition module against the
flywheel.
•
Tighten the bolts and check the air
gap again.
When there is still no ignition spark,
first check the ignition coil's primary
winding followed by the secondary
winding.
Primary winding:
Connect a universal instrument
between elements (A) and (B).
Measured value: 0,75 - 0,92 Ω.
The ignition coil should be replaced
when the measured values are not met.
Secondary winding:
Connect a universal instrument
between elements (B) and (C).
Measured value: 6,1 – 9,3 kΩ.
The ignition coil should be replaced
when the measured values are not met.
Replacing the spark
plug cover
1. Lubricate the ignition cable with a
little grease and thread it through
the spark plug cover.
2. Cut off a bit of the ignition cable
(approx. 5 mm) and make a hole in
the cable for the ignition coil with
the aid of a pair of no. 502 50 06-01
pliers.
