While installation
is
relatively simple
, certain
precautions
must
be
observed
.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT OUR WARRANTY DOES
NOT COVER DAMAGE CAUSED BY MISHANDLING

MISUSE
,
EXCESSIVE LINE VOLTAGE
,
OR INSUFFICIENT VENTILATION
.
We
therefore
urge you to
follow
the instructions
in this
section carefully
and
in
sequence
.
Q
Make
sure
that local electric power is AC , and the
voltage
matches the
voltage specified
on the rear
panel
of the unit
.
CAUTION :
Read the instructions on this
page before connecting the power
cord
to
an
electrical outlet
.

Place the unit
on
any
convenient shelf or table
away
from all
sources of
heat
. Allow
at least 2 of inches clearance above
and
behind the unit for ventilation
.
Unwind the power cord
completely
,
to its full
length
,
and plug it
into an AC wall outlet
,

Place
your two
speakers
5 to 10 feet apart
,
facing your
selected
listening position
,
and
as
close
as
possible to
ear
level
.
Plug
both
speakers
into the unit
.

Connect
the antenna that is supplied with the unit to either
one
of the FM
ANTENNA
terminals
.
Fasten the antenna
'
s end to a
non metallic surface such
as
a window
,
a wall
,
or
the rear
surface of a cabinet or shelf
.

Fit
the hinges
of the dust
cover
into the notches on the rear of
the unit base and then
push
down
.

When
recording from
certain
AM
stations , beat oscillation
(
a
pulsating
sound
)
may
sometimes occur , caused
by
interaction
between the radio
frequency and the recording
bias frequency
.
In this case
,
simply
slide the BEAT CANCEL switch to the other
position
.
