Ethylene oxide
Other names: epoxyethane, ethylene oxide, dimethylene oxide, oxacyclopropane,
1,2-Epoxy ethane. Proper IUPAC name: oxirane.
Highly reactive, toxic and flammable colourless gas.
Ethylene oxide is one of the most important raw materials used in large-scale
chemical production. It is used also as a sterylant and fungicide.

Ethylene oxide is 1.5 times higher than air. It is very reactive, so it should be detected as
early as possible.
Calibration
E2648-ETO detectors have been calibrated by Manufacturer with standard gas
mixtures before delivery. Provided that the sensor is used under moderate
conditions,the recommended interval for field recalibration is 6 months. Please
contact your dealer for more information.
