    Important Warnings WARNING Death or Serious Injury Can Occur FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS AND THE PRODUCT LABELS CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH TO YOUR CHILD. To avoid serious injury or death, proper use is required. DO NOT let others install or use the car seat or car seat base without reading all the instructions first.

The LATCH/UAS anchorage system makes car seat installation in a vehicle easier, and does not use vehicle seat belts. LATCH stands for Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children, and is also referred to as lower Universal Anchorage System (UAS) in Canada.

With the connector oriented with logo facing outward, push it straight onto the metal bar until you hear and feel a CLICK (Photo J). Pull out on each LATCH/UAS connector to be sure it is locked onto the vehicle anchorage.

    Un-installing the Car Seat Base: With LATCH/UAS To un-install the car seat base and remove it from your vehicle: Turn the StrongArm knob counterclockwise and reset the car seat base StrongArm to zero (Photo A). Push and hold the red button on each LATCH/UAS connector and pull it off the vehicle LATCH/UAS anchorage (Photo B).

If using a lap-shoulder vehicle belt to secure the car seat base, continue to Step 7. If using a vehicle lap belt, skip to Step 14.

    Removing the Upholstery and Sunshade To remove the upholstery : The upholstery can be easily removed for cleaning WITHOUT detaching the restraint harness from the car seat. Unhook each corner of the upholstery from the rim near the carry handles (Photo A) and pull it away from the seat shell.

    Other Cleaning Instructions Metal and plastic parts Metal and plastic parts on the car seat and car seat base may be wiped clean with a mild soap and water solution. Towel dry. Do not use household detergents, such as bleach or abrasive agents. These detergents can weaken plastic parts.
