The A2-A3 Ethernet Dock is a mounting station for

Using the Ethernet Dock
1.
The ethernet dock is a freestanding desktop base that
can be mounted to a horizontal surface. To mount
the dock, drill two holes 4-5/8"apart through the
mounting surface. Screw two #6-32 screws through
the mounting surface and up into the threaded holes
in the dock's base plate.
Note: The screws should not penetrate the dock more
than 1/4".

The handheld must have a docking I/O module. The
module has docking pin contacts as shown below:
If you have a standard I/O module, replace it with a
docking I/O module (ordered separately).

To use an Archer

insert as shown below.

Provide power to the dock using the 12VDC charger
that came with your handheld.
5.
If the handheld has a connector protector, open it to
reveal the connector ports. Pull it back.
6.
Insert the handheld into the dock with the keypad
facing forward. Align the docking pins on the dock
with the contacts on the handheld I/O module.
7.
For networking, use an ethernet cable to connect the
dock to an ethernet switch or to an internal network.
8.
Use communication software to communicate with
the handheld over an ethernet network. Follow the
instructions included with the software.
9.
You can communicate with the host computer via the
USB cable. Power must be applied to the dock.
10. Insert your handheld into the dock, and make sure it is
charging.
11. The handheld can be used when it is in the dock. The
keys are all accessible.
Note: Do not connect both the USB and the ethernet
to the docked handheld at the same time.
