TDT C1500 Router Configuration 3. Router Preparation 3.1. Insert data card Insert the SIM card into the SIM 2 slot inside your C1500 router. Ensure that the SIM card used is not PIN-protected. 3.2. Power supply Connect to the power supply in accordance with manufacturer instructions. 3.3. Network connection The C1500 router has two network interfaces (WAN and LAN). The Networking area is the most multifaceted since the entire scope of function is configurable here. For a mobile network connection, the area PPP Functions is used. • The log files and status displays under Diagnose can be used to locate errors. • Configuration changes to the router are temporary: following a restart or power failure, default or previously stored configurations are active. - Page 8 TDT C1500 Router Configuration The SIM card must not be PIN-protected. The SIM 2 slot is located inside the device and is the only one that should be used. You now need to enter the PPP access data for the relevant provider in the editing mask. Example: Vodafone Germany APN: web.vodafone.de Username: Password: All other settings are to be entered as shown on the screenshot. This is responsible for dynamic connection, i.e. connection when required, or static connection, i.e. connection as soon as the router is started. Click the Connection-Manager Functions symbol to access the relevant function. All other settings can be accepted as they are. Create the entry by clicking Create. Click Return to Connection-Manager to return to the overview where the connection you just created is now displayed. Under “Activate Connection-Manager” select Yes and accept the settings by clicking Apply Changes. GSM/GPRS/UMTS connection the function GSM Modem State is the means by which to ensure that everything is okay with the mobile network connection, that signal strength is sufficient and that registration with the provider was successful. For analyses, system information and the router logs are available. If a connection has been created successfully, data on the registered network is given here. The Signal Quality bar indicates the signal strength of the mobile network. If you wish to use the DHCP function of the C1500 router and the latter was configured correctly, instead of the connection settings given above you can also activate the Obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP) function and if necessary also the Obtain a DNS server address automatically function.
