Holds coil-type element in proper position
Collects drippings and holds element support
Also deflects heat from element for more efficient cooking
Infinite switch to control temperature of heating element
Glows any time temperature control is on
Lists manufacturer, model number and serial number
Also lists voltage and wattage rating
Connects hotplate to electrical power
Some units require wiring directly into electrical circuit
Provide ventilation under hotplate
Allow hotplate to be leveled
