Machine Operation 24.11.14 / V 01.0-EN Changing the cutting tool Overheated tools and milling head Attention: burn hazard! Always wear protective gloves when changing the cutting tool. Attention! A milling head conus is a precision bearing! In order to prevent it from being damaged always handle with greatest care.
Operating 24.11.14 / V 01.0-EN Changing the cutting tool Since the precision conus of the cutting tool is a self-locking conus, that cannot be loosened by a morse taper kindly follow most accurately the procedure as described in the following. Your machine is provided with an adjustable ball ramp to loosen the milling head.
Page 12
Operating 24.11.14 / V 01.0-EN Put the milling head immediately into the corre- sponding box to avoid damage to the precision conus. Also use the box for the axis to keep it in safe custody. Important!!!! 10 d. To prepare the machine for another new cutting tool, turn the ball ramp with the hex key SW6 (upper marking) to the right until it is fixed.

On-time 24.11.14 / V 01.0-EN We fitted our milling machines with an optimal bearing and a very good lubrication system. This complex construction which was designed for these extreme applica- tions, does not prevent damages if the machine is improperly used. To avoid such damages the indicated on-time should always be respected.
Adjusting the bevel height 24.11.14 / V 01.0-EN 16. Machine adjustments The bevelling size is determined by the height adjustment of the guide bell and through the milling head angle The divisions of the scale are indicative; the height adjustment of the vernier arrow to the next arrow is 0.05mm.

Radius 24.11.14 / V 01.0-EN Adjusting the radii: The lateral position of the radius to the side of the workpiece is determi- ned by the guide bearing fitted. Cutting a lager plate with a plasma cutter may result in a 7° deviation of the upper and end faces of the workpiece.
Page 25
Radius 24.11.14 / V 01.0-EN Important for a well-formed radius is the right adjustment If the guide plate is set too low the material is milled on the surface If the guide plate is set too high, the radius is not completely formed. If the setting is right, the radius is correct Important !! Always pay attention to the correct guide sleeve.
5. Wear your personal protective equipment Glasses, work gloves, hearing protection, safety shoes and • a leather apron Working with the HBM 15: To exclude accidental starting of the edge milling machine HBM15, the starter of the machine is equipped with a locking startup.
