LIGHT
The Arc's light ring presented a unique engineering
and design challenge. Suddenly, unrelated problems
like battery life, optical properties of plastic, and
the human eye's response to color and brightness
all had to be considered.
After experimenting with various materials and
configurations, we settled on a combination of
clear and frosted plastic with a system of internal
reflectors to maximize brightness.
At the same time, the Arc's onboard sensors and
color-balancing algorithm help minimize power
draw.
