covered, brush-covered or grass-covered land unless the engine's exhaust system is equipped with a spark arrester meeting
applicable local or state laws (if any). If a spark arrester is used, it should be maintained in effective working order by the operator.

Please read and understand what it says. Before you start assembling your new equipment, please locate the model plate on the equipment and copy the information from it in the space provided below.

    Wire Spark Plug Figure 1 • Before setting up your lawn mower, disconnect spark plug wire from the spark plug, and ground it against the engine. See Figure 1 . • In the case of lawn mowers where engine is equipped with a rubber boot, attach rubber boot to a bolt on the engine to ground.

    SECTION 4: KNOW YOUR LAWN MOWER Compare the illustrations in Figure 9 with your lawn mower to familiarize yourself with the location of various controls and adjustments.     • Be sure that lawn is clear of stones, sticks, wire, or other objects which could damage lawn mower or engine. Such objects could be accidentally thrown by the mower in any direction and cause serious personal injury to the operator and others.

    To service the air cleaner, refer to the engine manual. SECTION 8: OFF-SEASON STORAGE If the lawn mower is not going to be used for 30 days or longer, prepare the unit for storage. Follow the steps below for proper storage of the mower.
