User's Guide
I N S T R U C T I O N S
The port replicator extends the functionality
of your LifeBook® notebook by providing
ports to connect an external VGA monitor, a
LAN (RJ-45) cable, four USB 2.0 devices,
speaker/headphones, DC Power, and DVI,
parallel, serial, and e-SATA devices.
The port replicator connects to the bottom/
rear of your LifeBook notebook.
BACK PANEL COMPONENTS
The following is a brief description of the
port replicator's back panel components.
(Figure 1)
Eject Lever
The eject lever is used to unlatch the system
from the port replicator. See Figure TBD for
information on using the lever.

    Power On/Off Button The Power On/Off button on the port repli- cator performs the same functions as the system Suspend/Resume button. The Power On/Off button allows you to suspend note- book activity without powering off, resume your notebook from standby mode, and power on your system when it has been shut down from the Windows operating system.

    External DVI Port The external Digital Video Interface (DVI) port allows you to connect an external digital flat-panel monitor or projector, providing a pure digital video signal for digital monitors. Docking Port The docking port connects the port replicator to your notebook. External Video Port The external video port allows you to connect an external monitor or display.
  • Page 5 ATTACHING A PORT REPLICATOR The port replicator can be attached on your notebook while the power is on, while in suspend mode, or while the power is off. To attach the port replicator follow these steps: Align the docking connector on the bottom of the notebook with the con- nector on top of the Port Replicator.
  • Page 6 DETACHING A PORT REPLICATOR The port replicator can be detached from your notebook while the power is on, while in suspend mode, or while the power is off. To detach the port replicator: 1. Pull the port replicator release latch away from the port replicator to release the lock (See Figure 3).
