USING THE USB-DEDICATED CHARGING
PORT
See figure 5, page 12.
The USB-dedicated charging port charges most devices
that can accept a charge from a USB port. A suitable USB
cable must be provided by the user.
The USB port on the power source supplies a 5 Volt DC,
up to 1 Amp charging site for your cell phone, MP3 player,
or other small (up to 1 Amp) USB device. Simply connect a
USB cable (not provided) from your device to the USB port
on the power source to charge.
NOTE: The USB-dedicated charging port provides power
only; it does not provide any communication capabilities.
Connect the USB cable to the USB-dedicated charging
port and the appropriate port on your USB-compatible
device.
The device should begin charging immediately unless the
radio is in SLEEP MODE. In this case, turn the radio ON
using the ON/OFF/VOLUME knob.
To protect your device from environmental hazards (dust,
moisture, etc.), place the device in the phone storage
compartment and close the compartment door. The
restraining strap may be used to help secure the device
while in storage.
NOTE: Some devices will not fit into the storage area. You will
not be able to secure these devices inside the compartment.
 When the radio is operating on battery power, the USB-
dedicated charging port will continue to function for
approximately 1 hour after turning the radio OFF. After
this time, the radio will enter SLEEP MODE. You must turn
the radio ON to resume operation of the charging port.
