1. Turn the adjustment screw for the oil pump. Use a
screwdriver or combination wrench.
a) Turn the adjustment screw clockwise to decrease
the chain oil flow.
b) Turn the adjustment screw counterclockwise to
increase the chain oil flow.
Recommended settings for the oil pump
• Guide bar length 61-71 cm / 24-28 in: 0 turns from
the closed position.
• Guide bar length 71-86 cm / 28-34 in: ¾ turn from
the closed position.
• Guide bar length 86-107 cm / 34-42 in: 1 ½ turns
from the closed position.
• Guide bar length 107 cm / 42 inch and longer: 1 ¾
turns from the closed position.
Chain oil lever
In very bad conditions the chain and guide bar can use
more chain oil. The oil flow must only be increased when
the engine runs and the chain rotates.
1. Push the lever to the right, where it will automatically
be held in the locked position.
2. Push in the lever to release it.
Note: When the added oil flow has been started the oil
consumption increases by 40–80%. The basic
adjustment of the oil pump gives the consumption rate.

removes dust and dirt before the particles are caught by

To clean the cooling system
The cooling system keeps the engine temperature
down. The cooling system includes the air intake on the
starter (A) and the air guide plate (B), the pawls on the
flywheel (C), the cooling fins on the cylinder (D) and the
cylinder cover (E).

1. Clean the cooling system with a brush weekly or
more frequently if it is necessary.
2. Make sure that the cooling system is not dirty or
blocked.
CAUTION: A dirty or blocked cooling
system can make the product too hot,
which can cause damage to the product.
