• Check with your state and local

works

for plumbing
and sanitation
codes. You must follow these
guidelines
as you install the Hea_ 3, Duty Water Filtration
System. Using a qualified
installer is recommended.
• Be sure the water supply conforms with the Performance
Data. If the water supply conditions
are unknown, contact
your municipal water company.

that a water shut-off vane be
placed directly upstream of your household
filter.
PROPER
INSTALLATION
This Heavy Duty Water Filtration System must be properly installed and located in accordance with the Installation Instructions
before it is used.
• Checkwith yourlocal public works departmentfor plumbing
codes. You mustfollow their guidesas youinstall the
HeavyDuty Water FiltrationSystem.
• Usethe HeavyDuty Water FiltrationSystemon a potable,
safe-to-drink,home COLDwater supplyonly. Thefilter
cartridge will not purify water or make unsafe watersafe
to drink. DONOTuse on HOT water (lO0°Fmax).
• Protect theHeavyDuty Water FiltrationSystemandpiping
fromfreezing. Water freezingin the systemwill damageit.
• YourHeavyDuty Water FiltrationSystemwill withstandup to
100psi water pressure.If yourhousewater supplypressure
is higherthan 100psi duringthe day (it may reach higher
levels at night),install a pressurereducingvalvebeforethe
systemis installed.
• Do not install on HOT WATER. The temperature
of the
water supply to the Heavy Duty ¼_ter Filtration System
mtxst be between the xi/ixlixi/txxll o f 40°F. and the maximtxm
of 100°F. See the
PerformanceData
section.
• Do not install the Hea D' Duty _tex
Filtration System using
copper solder fittings. The heat flom the soldering process
will damage the unit.

packaging material after installation. Small parts
remaining after installation could be a choke hazard.
Do
not install
filter
in an
outside
location

will be exposed
to sunlight.
