The nVent RAYCHEM FrostGuard-ECO controller (230 V) provides temperature
and energy control for the nVent RAYCHEM FrostGuard heating cable kits for pipe
freeze protection.
The controller includes an external sensor and cable which can be placed on the
pipe (under the insulation) or can operate as an ambient temperature sensor to
switch the control unit on and off.
Installation steps (see page 5):
Attach sensor cable to pipe on the opposite side to the

FrostGuard heater.
Cover the sensor and heater cable with correctly

sized insulation
Plug FrostGuard-ECO into the electrical supply socket. Plug the

FrostGuard heater kit into the front of the FrostGuard-ECO control.
Set the desired switching temperature on the front of the unit.
This product is to be powered from an electrical supply with RCD electrical
protection. In order to provide energy efficiency and freeze prevention,
nVent recommends a standard set point temperature of 3°C. Controller to
be positioned indoors. The controller is a sealed unit. Not to be opened.
The sensor cannot be lengthened or shortened by the user.
Red LED
= Power to unit.
Green LED
= Power to heating circuit.
Green LED becomes orange
(circuit power on for application safety.)

This product is solely to be used with the FrostGuard heating kit
range of products and may not be used to switch any other devices.
