Guide values for tightening torques M for metric set screws
Theoretically the tightening torques result in a clamping force, which
corresponds to 90% of the tensile yield strength of the screws. The
calculation is made on the assumption that the friction coefficient for
thread and headset is identical.
The tables are only guide values and are to be applied if there are
no details available from the manufacturer of the screws or connecting
elements. A detailed screw calculation cannot be replaced by the
tables.
Standard metric thread
μ
Average coefficient of friction for thread and head set
