    1. INTRODUCTION Thank you for purchasing the BYD Mini ES storage system. We hope our product meets your expectations. We would be grateful for any feedback you can give us regarding the performance and functionality of our product or service, so that we can continually improve our products and satisfy your needs.

    PV supply to the property. • In the event of a loss of grid power to a property the Mini ES can provide up to 2kW of power to an emergency load circuit connected to the Mini ES. This can be used to power home appliances.

    It contains important information for the installation of the Mini ES. Please read the manual carefully before the transportation, installation, operation, or maintenance of the Mini ES. Failure to do so may result in damage to the product, injury to the operator, or damage to a consumer’s property.

    Mini ES. • All certiied installers must have necessary trade qualiications to make the connection of the Mini ES to a properties electrical supply. • The operator must be able to protect and maintain the device according to safety standards.

    If the seal is broken by unauthorised action, the warranty will be invalid. • The installation and operation of the Mini ES must follow the steps outlined in the installation manual. If these steps are not followed the warranty will be invalid.

    • There must be suficient ventilation. • There is a small amount of noise emitted from the Mini ES. Although there is only a small amount of noise emitted, 40 decibels, place in a location that will not disturb the homeowner. • The location temperature must never fall below 0 degrees centigrade, or exceed 40 degrees centigrade.

    2.2.6 Pollution grade The surrounding environment of the energy storage system area is at pollution grade 2.     - Only the authorised, trained electricians are to carry out the installation, operation, or maintenance of the Mini ES. Risk of burns due to high temperature The components temperature of the device may be up to 100 °C (212°F), which can cause serious burns.

Risk of injury due to heavy weight The heavy weight of the components may cause injury during installation, disassembly and transportation. - 2 people should transport and mount the system. Material damage due to condensation If the device is moved from a cold environment to the installation location it may cause condensation, which causes damage to the components.

    When there is no daylight and the battery is empty, the grid will support the family load. When the Mini ES is on-grid, it can’t run continuously at full power – 3Kw. In order to keep the service life of the batteries, it will decrease the power automatically dependant on the status of the batteries (too high or too low).

    - Only after a professional engineer installs the Mini ES can the user start the Mini ES. - Don’t operate the load distribution plate when the grid is off. Turn off the Mini ES and after testing the load distribution plate to make sure it is neutral, you may operate.

    4.1.1 Safety introduction Installing and commissioning the storage system requires training, and only qualiied installers can carry out the installation, wiring and commissioning. WARNING! Risk of injury from failing to follow the correct sequence If the speciied sequence is not followed during installation, it may cause injury or damage to the unit. - Consult the speciied order. - Consult the safety instructions. Risk of injury due to sharp edges The components have sharp edges which can cause injuries if not handled correctly.

    - The circuit that holds the consumer unit must neutral and off-grid before the installation. Check the packing • Before delivery, the Mini ES has gone through rigorous quality checks and has been carefully and irmly packed. It may however, still have been damaged or had some sort of impact during transportation. If there is any breakage on the surface of the product, it may indicate that the equipment or internal component has broken.

    4.7.4 Supply power and start up Only connect the breaker of MINIES on the “general distribution plate” to supply power to system. The process: Press the “POWER” for about 10s until “POWER” light is on. While you are waiting for “POWER” light on, the “POWER”, “LOCAL”, “REMOTE” light will licker once; this is normal behavior during the start up process.
