DT3 CleanStation Safety Guidelines The following general guidelines, together with the instructions provided throughout this guide, ensure user safety while operating and maintaining the DT3 CleanStation. If the system is not operated as specified, the user's safety might be compromised! • Never operate the DT3 CleanStation while the cover is open. • The power cable should be connected at an easily accessible electric socket near the DT3 CleanStation. • Do not move the DT3 CleanStation so that the power cable becomes taut or disconnects from the power socket. • A VAC ground fault interrupt (RCD) must be used. • Only operate the DT3 CleanStation when wearing neoprene gloves, safety goggles and a protective mask. • Make sure that the room is properly ventilated. The ventilation system should change the air at least four times every hour. • Remove parts with the supplied basket or with steel or plastic tongs. Do not use aluminum tongs when the cleaning solution is in the DT3 CleanStation. • Never move the DT3 CleanStation when there is liquid in the tank. • ...
DT3 CleanStation Installation Selecting a Location Prepare an installation area that meets the following conditions: • a level and stable surface, which is able to bear the load of the cleaning station (45.4 kg/100 lbs) • near a sink or drain • near a power socket Do not place the unit so that the power cable becomes tight or disconnects from the power socket. • at least 15 cm (6 inches) clearance on each side • room temperature between 18°C and 25°C (65°F-77°F) Recommendations: • a non-slip floor because water may drip from cleaned models • a nearby source of water Connecting the Drainage Hose To connect the drainage hose: 1. DT3 CleanStation Operating Instructions Before operating the cleaning station, put on neoprene gloves, mask, and safety goggles. You can clean models printed with SUP707 with water only, or you can add an alkaline solution to the water for cleaning models printed with SUP706. Filling the Tank To fill the tank with water: 1. Close the drain valve at the rear of the unit ( see Figure 1 on the previous page). 2. Disconnect the power cord. 3. Make sure that a drainage hose is properly connected (see "Connecting the Drainage Hose" on the previous page). 4. Fill the tank until the water reaches at least 2.54 cm (1 inch) below the top of the tank. This is approximately 23 liters (6 gallons). Warning: Adding too much water to the tank will cause it to overflow. Fill the tank until at least 2.54 cm (1 inch) below the top of the tank. If you fill the tank more than this, take into account the volume of the parts to be cleaned so that it doesn't overflow. There is a water-level switch 2.54 cm (1 inch) below the top of the tank. DT3 CleanStation Powering On the DT3 CleanStation To power-on the DT3 CleanStation: 1. Make sure that the power switch on the front panel is in the Off position. Figure 2 Control panel and power switch 2. Plug the cleaning station into an electrical socket. 3. Make sure that the water level is no lower than 2.54 cm (one inch) from the top of the tank. 4. Press the power switch to turn it on. To start the cleaning cycle, see "Starting the Cleaning Cycle" on the next page. DT3 CleanStation 5.4.1 Setting the Timer The DT3 CleanStation is preset to run for four hours. To change the cleaning time: 1. Press and hold the Infinity button until OPER appears in the LED display. 2. Press the down arrow to display HOUR. 3. Press and hold the Set button while pressing the Arrow buttons to adjust the cleaning hours. 4. Press the down arrow again to display MIN. 5. Press and hold the Set button while pressing the Arrow buttons to adjust the cleaning minutes. 6. Press the Infinity button to exit the menu. 5.4.2 Starting the Cleaning Cycle To start the cleaning cycle, press the infinity and down buttons. 5.4.3 Stopping the Cleaning Cycle The DT3 CleanStation stops automatically when the timer counts down to zero. DT3 CleanStation Draining the Tank 5.6.1 Draining Water To drain water from the tank: 1. Disconnect the power cord. 2. Make sure that the drainage hose is properly connected and that it is directed into a sink or sufficiently large bucket. 3. Open the drainage valve. Figure 4 Drainage hose and drainage valve 4. When the tank is empty, close the drainage valve. 5.6.2 Draining Alkaline Cleaning Solution Before handling the alkaline solution, read "Alkaline Cleaning Solution Safety Instructions" on page 6. To drain alkaline solution from the tank: 1. Disconnect the power cord. 2. Make sure that the drainage hose is properly connected and that it is directed into a container. • Keep the DT3 CleanStation clean by wiping it down with a damp cloth after use. • The DT3 CleanStation pump and motor are factory-sealed and do not require any lubrication or seal replacement. Disassembling the Unit for Cleaning If you notice a significant decrease in water circulation, there might be a build-up of printing material blocking the pump suction strainer or manifold. 6.2.1 Cleaning the Pump Suction Strainer Warning: Always wear neoprene safety gloves, a mask, and safety goggles when cleaning the pump suction strainer. To clean the pump suction strainer: 1. Remove the tank lid and dry it. 2. Inspect the suction strainer and remove any material deposits (see Figure 5 on the next page. If the suction strainer mesh becomes excessively coated with material deposits, it might be necessary to replace it. Contact your Stratasys representative. 3. DT3 CleanStation 6.2.2 Cleaning the Manifold To clean the manifold: 1. Using a 5/16" socket, loosen the hose clamp connecting the manifold to the hose. 2. Using a 3/8" socket, remove the two 10-32 nuts. 3. Completely remove the pipe clamps and manifold. 4. Remove the material deposits blocking the jets by either pulling it through the holes, or by flushing the manifold with water. Figure 6 Cleaning the manifold Re-Assembling the Cleaning Station 1. DT3 CleanStation Troubleshooting The Control Panel is Blank or the Cleaning Station Does Not Run • Check that the water level in the tank is not below approximately 2.54 cm (1 inch) from the top of the tank. • Check that the cleaning station is plugged in to a wall socket and that the socket is live. • Check that the cleaning station is turned on. • Check for a blown fuse. When replacing fuses, always disconnect the DT3 CleanStation from the wall socket and keep the power cable in view, so that it is not accidentally plugged back in. To check and replace the fuse: 1. Disconnect the unit from the wall socket. 2. Locate the fuses behind the tank. 3. Unscrew the fuse covers. Figure 7 Fuses 4. Check the fuses with an ohm meter. DT3 CleanStation Printed Models Take a Long Time to Clean • Check the cleaning solution with a hydrometer and change the solution, if necessary. For instructions on using the hydrometer, see D OC-08380, "Working with Alkaline Cleaning Solution". • Check that the suction strainer and the manifold jets are clear of material deposits (see "Maintenance" on page 12). Error Messages on the Control Panel If an error is displayed (such as Err4 or Err5), contact your Stratasys representative.
