5 EARTHING Earthing (or grounding) all components is important especially if the BS is installed outside. The reasons are: - Protection against lightning strikes; - Evacuation of static electricity in the cables and equipment. Make sure the earth connectors are placed on surfaces free of paint or corrosion allowing the best electrical conduction.
