    Foreword This user manual is intended to provide the necessary information for the proper operation of the model MS-131002 non-contact infrared body thermometer. A general knowledge of infrared thermometers and an understanding of the features and functions of the thermometer are prerequisites for proper use.

    1 - Overview Intended Use The non-contact infrared body thermometer is designed to be used for intermittent measurement and monitoring of human body temperature by consumers in the home setting and primary care setting as a screening tool. Description of Non-Contact Infrared Body Thermometer Introduction and Operating Principle This non-contact thermometer is a hand-held, reusable, battery-operated device which measures human body temperature via the patient’s forehead.

The thermometer will briefly illuminate all segments of the display with green backlighting and then complete a measurement. 2.4 Temperature Modes The thermometer is capable of measuring body temperature and surface temperature. By default, the thermometer will enter Body Mode when turned on.
