Keyboard, Video, and Mouse Splitter
Materials included with this kit:
VOPEX-2P KVM Splitter Unit
VEXT-6 6' VGA Monitor cable
Two VKINT-6-MM 6' Keyboard and Mouse Cables

INTRODUCTION

The VOPEX-2P KVM Splitter enables the control of one PS/2 CPU through two separate PS/2 keyboards, mice, and VGA
monitors. Each user is able to have complete control of a CPU, provided they don't try to access it at the same time. While the
user access is controlled by four (4) separate modes of operation, both user monitors will show the same image at all times.

LIMITATION

Does not support hot-plugging of devices.

INSTALLATION

First
Turn OFF power to CPU and monitor(s).

Monitor Connection

Disconnect the monitor cable at the CPU and reconnect it to the "U1" monitor port on the VOPEX-2P.
1.
Connect the male 15HD connector end of the VEXT-6 into the CPU's video port.
2.
Connect the female 15HD connector end of the VEXT-6 into the "VIDEO" port on the VOPEX-2P.
3.
Plug a second monitor (or optional VEXT-xx extension cable) into the "U2" monitor port on the VOPEX-2P.
4.
Note: "xx" in VEXT-xx indicates the length of the cable in feet. Many lengths are available. Contact your VPI
salesperson or visit us at our website at http://www.vpi.us for details.

Mouse Connection

Disconnect the mouse at the CPU and reconnect it to the green "U1" mouse port on the VOPEX-2P.
1.
Connect one male 6 pin miniDIN end of a VKINT-6-MM cable into the mouse port on the CPU.
2.
Connect the other male 6 pin miniDIN connector of the same cable to green "CPU" mouse port on the VOPEX-2P.
3.
Connect a second mouse (or optional PS/2 extension cable VKEXT-xx) to the green "U2" mouse port on the VOPEX-2P.
4.

Keyboard Connection

1.
Disconnect the keyboard at the CPU and reconnect the
keyboard to the purple "U1" keyboard port on the
VOPEX-2P.
2.
Connect one male 6 pin miniDIN end of the second
VKINT-6-MM cable to the keyboard port on the CPU.
3.
Connect the other male 6 pin miniDIN connector of the
same cable to the purple "CPU" keyboard port on the
VOPEX-2P.
4.
Connect a second keyboard (or optional PS/2 extension
cable VKEXT-xx) to the purple "U2" keyboard port on the
VOPEX-2P.

  • Page 2 The VOPEX-2P comes equipped with four (4) modes of operation. To toggle between modes, depress the MODE button once each time a mode change is desired. The VOPEX-2P will cycle through the 4 modes of operation, then return to the first mode (1 to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 4, 4 to 1).
