Lock-On / Lock-Off Button
Lock-On / Lock-Off Button 6 (Fig. 8)
serves two purposes:

Lock-on function to keep the tool
running
depressing the trigger 8. This
function works only when the Mode
selector dial 4 is in the "Hammering"
mode (See "Mode Selector Dial"
chapter).

Lock-Off function to prevent an
accidental activation of the trigger 8.
When the button is in down position,
the trigger is disabled. Before turning
the tool on, press and release the
button 6 to return it to the up
(unlocked) position.
while the tool is running in any mode
other than "Hammering" will shut the
tool off and lock it in an "OFF"
position. In addition, switching modes
while in lock-on mode will shut the
tool off and lock it in an "OFF"
position.
To resume hammer operation, press
and release the
Mode Selector Dial
the tool comes to a complete stop.
Shifting during rotation of the chuck can
cause damage to the tool.
The mode selector dial 4 allows the tool
to be set for various applications as
listed in the following chart:

When using demolition or chipping bits
such as bull points, chisels, spades,
gouges, etc., the "Hammering" mode
must be selected.
"Vario-Lock"
The Vario-Lock position is intended for
use with chipping bits such as bull
points, spades, gouges, etc. Choose a
position which is best suited for your
operation.

Turn the mode selector dial 4, to the
"vario-lock" setting. Next, rotate the
locking sleeve, along with the accessory,
to the desired position. Then turn the
mode selector dial to the "Hammering"
setting and slightly turn the locking
sleeve to have it automatically lock into
a definite position (Fig. 9).
