It is a semi-automatic duplicator that is both sturdy and practical. Please read the entire manual and follow the preventive maintenance suggestions to help prolong the life of your key machine. If there are any questions after reading the manual, call the HPC Service Department toll free for assistance (1-800-323-3295).

JAW A JAW B Vise jaw A is used for all standard keys with the deepest cut no less than .142 inches. Jaw B is used for small keys that use cuts of such great depth that a lip on the jaw is provided to hold the key closer to the cutter.
Page 17
If the key should tip when placed in jaw A, such as a Best ™ key, you can use jaw B. Fit the key groove onto the lip of the jaw so that the key rests firmly against the back of the jaw. Use this method only if there is a problem holding the key in place.

While holding down the carriage handle, slowly move the lever to the right.
Page 44
Using carriage handle, gently engage key into cutter and then release the handle. Begin to cut the key blank from the tip to the shoulder by moving the lever to the right - the carriage spring will provide all the tension necessary.
Page 45
Continue cutting to the shoulder then back toward the tip.
Page 46
Move the lever back to the left until the tracer and cutter are no longer in contact with the keys.
Page 47
At this point, push the carriage handle down.
Page 48
While holding the carriage handle down, move the lever fully to the left.
Page 56
Move carriage with keys loaded into cutter area, release and turn cutter by hand. If the cutter is cutting key, then the machine is cutting too deep.
Page 57
If the cutter does not contact the key, then the machine is cutting too shallow.
Page 59
With machine off, turn the depth adjustment knob while rotating the cutter with your other hand until the cutter just barely begins to scrape the key blank.
Page 60
To correct a cut that is too deep, turn the depth adjustment knob clockwise for a shallower cut.
Page 61
To correct a cut that is too shallow, turn the depth adjustment knob counter-clockwise for deeper cut.
Page 62
If everything seems okay, tighten the set screw.
Page 63
Insert the test key to be duplicated into the tracer side.
Page 65
Check the test key in the lock to see that the key works smoothly. NOTE: If duplicate key turns “tight,” adjust the tracer slightly inward for a deeper cut. If duplicate key “clicks,” adjust the tracer slightly outward for a shallower cut.
Page 70
Move the carriage so that the tracer comes into contact with the shoulder as shown.

Preventive Maintenance, Warranty and Service...
Page 90
During the 90 day warranty period, you will be billed for the handling and shipping only. Neither HPC, Inc., nor its distributors have “loaner machines” available.
Page 91
UPS does not deliver on weekends or on some holidays. 4. If you need to send an HPC key machine in for repair, pack the machine securely in a box or container strong enough to prevent damage during shipping (the original packaging, if possible).
Page 92
5. The usual method of payment for key machine parts is Visa, Mastercard or pre-paying your order with a check. If you wish to have your HPC distributor billed for the cost of repairs, they will have to call in with approval of the billing and a purchase order for the work being done, before the machine is repaired.
