    IMPORTANT - READ THIS FIRST • Inspect stair for any damage prior to installation. • Stair is NOT to be installed while home is under construction and used as a construction stair. Failure to follow these guidelines can result in damage to the stair and will void the warranty.

  • Page 5 Locating The Stair Determine whether the chosen location allows sufficient “projection” and “landing space” for your unit. See Figure 1 and 2 below and TABLE A on page 3.   • Page 6 Framing The Opening If your attic framing consists of prefabricated trusses, DO NOT CUT WITHOUT CONSULTING AN ENGINEER AND OBTAINING APPROVAL. Warning * In framing the rough opening, one or more joists (beams) will need to be cut, depending on orientation of the ladder (parallel or perpendicular to the joists.) In either case joists to be cut must be supported on both sides of the opening before cutting.

Pull door all the way down until it stops. * Stand back from stair and Insert hook into ring under the bottom tread. * Pull slowly until the bottom tread can be reached by hand.
