    3. De NightWatch 3.1 Product beschrijving en beoogd gebruik De NightWatch is bedoeld om de gebruiker op de hoogte te stellen bij mogelijke nachtelijke epileptische aanvallen. Tijdens de nachtrust van de persoon met epilepsie (hierna: de drager) kan de omgeving genotificeerd worden wanneer er een ‘urgente aanval’ plaatsvindt.

    4. Hoe werken de verschillende onderdelen? 4.1 Armband: armmodule met rekband De armmodule is het apparaatje dat om de bovenarm heen gaat. De beste positionering van de armmodule is aan de voorkant van het lichaam, om de bovenarm tussen de biceps en de schouder in.

    4.2 Basestation Het witte vierkante doosje is de basestation dat zowel licht- (leds) als geluidssignalen geeft. De basestation kan overal in huis geplaatst worden waar een stopcontact is. Zorg er wel voor dat u het geluidssignaal van de basestation goed kunt horen en er ’s nachts wakker door wordt.

    5. Hoe neemt u uw NightWatch in gebruik? 5.1 Stap 1: Maak de armband op maat Benodigdheden: Rekband § 2 clipjes § Armmodule § Balpen/potlood § Scherpe (textiel)schaar § De armband, die bestaat uit de rekband en de armmodule, moet bij de drager op maat worden gemaakt.
  • Page 13 Bevestig de clips in de gleuven van de armmodule, van boven naar onderen en laat daarbij de uiteinden van de band aan de onderkant van de armmodule uitsteken. Doe de armband om de bovenarm van de drager en plaats de armmodule daarbij aan de voorkant van het lichaam, iets boven de buik van de biceps maar onder de schouder.

    Verstel de band totdat deze comfortabel zit voor de drager én toch goed aansluit op de arm. Knip als laatste de band een beetje bij zodat de flapjes niet over de groene hartslagsensoren komen. Het is niet erg als de armband na een nacht slapen een afdruk heeft achtergelaten op de arm, mits deze afdruk binnen een half uur weer vanzelf wegtrekt.

    Batterijduur Armmodule: Oplaadtijd batterij: ongeveer 3 uur. In principe kunt u minstens 12 uur doen met een volledig opgeladen batterij. Opladen: Voor ieder gebruik moet de armmodule helemaal worden opgeladen. Op het moment dat u de armband aan de oplader legt die aan een stroomvoorziening ligt, gaan de hartslag leds op de onderkant uit en gaat op de witte bovenkant een groene led knipperen.
  • Page 16 Schuif de armband om de bovenarm, tussen de schouder en buik van de biceps, met de armmodule aan de voorkant van de bovenarm zodat er niet op wordt gelegen als de drager op zijn zij ligt. De basestation zal nu groen gaan knipperen wanneer de hartslag wordt gedetecteerd.

    5.5 Transport Het kan natuurlijk zo zijn dat u het systeem wilt meenemen naar een ander adres. Als u vervolgens de armmodule van de oplader haalt om hem mee te nemen, dan zullen de groene hartslag leds van de armmodule aan blijven staan. Om ervoor te zorgen dat de armmodule niet leegloopt wanneer deze getransporteerd wordt, moet u de armmodule uitzetten.

    Hieronder leest u welke signalen er zijn. 6.1 Armmodule en basestation geven hetzelfde signaal Groene led brandt continu De NightWatch kan aanvallen detecteren. De hartslag wordt betrouwbaar gemeten, de § verbinding tussen armmodule en basestation is in orde, de batterij is in orde, de positie van de armbanddrager is horizontaal (ligt in bed) en de armbanddrager is minstens 2 minuten in rust geweest.

    Van de lader af: de armmodule heeft een hartslag gevonden, maar de § armbanddrager is nog niet in rust. De NightWatch alarmering is nog niet actief. Zodra de drager langer dan twee minuten horizontaal in rust is, zal de NightWatch alarmering actief worden.

    6.4 Geluid basestation bedienen De knoppen ‘a’ en ‘b‘ Met deze knoppen kunt u het volgende: Het volume instellen § o Beide knoppen kunt u gebruiken om het volume van het alarm in te stellen. Houd knop ‘a’ of ‘b’ ingedrukt. U hoort dan het alarmgeluid steeds harder (a) of zachter (b) klinken.

    4. Wie funktionieren die verschiedenen Teile? 4.1 Armband: Armmodul mit Elastikband Das Armmodul ist das Gerät, das am Oberarm getragen wird. Die beste Position für das Armmodul ist an der Vorderseite des Körpers, um den Oberarm herum, zwischen Bizeps und Schulter. Mit Hilfe der beiden grünen Leuchten auf der dunkelgrauen Unterseite des Armmoduls kann die Herzfrequenz gemessen werden.

    4.2 Basisstation Die weiße quadratische Box ist die Basisstation, die sowohl Licht- (LEDs) als auch Tonsignale aussendet. Die Basisstation kann überall im Haus aufgestellt werden, wo eine Steckdose zur Verfügung steht. Stellen Sie sicher, dass Sie das Tonsignal laut genug einstellen, damit Sie es gut hören und nachts davon geweckt werden.

Die Anwendung der NightWatch 5.1 Schritt 1: Armband einstellen Erforderliches Zubehör: Elastikband § 2 Clips § Armmodul § Kugelschreiber/Bleistift § Scharfe (Textil)Schere § Das Armband, bestehend aus Elastikband und Armmodul, muss individuell für den Träger eingestellt werden. Es sollte nicht zu eng angezogen werden, aber dennoch gut auf der Haut aufliegen.

Legen Sie das Armband um den Oberarm des Trägers, mit dem Armmodul an der Vorderseite des Körpers, etwas oberhalb des Bizeps, aber unterhalb der Schulter. Es ist wichtig, dass sich das Armmodul an der Vorderseite des Armes befindet.

Abschließend kürzen Sie das Band gerade so viel, dass die grünen Herzfrequenzsensoren nicht (teilweise) von den Bandenden abgedeckt werden. Es ist kein Problem, wenn das Armband nach einer Nacht Schlaf einen Abdruck auf dem Arm hinterlassen hat, vorausgesetzt, dieser Abdruck verschwindet innerhalb einer halben Stunde von alleine.

    5.2 Schritt 2: Erstes Einschalten und Aufladen des Armmoduls Im Prinzip schalten Sie das Armmodul nur einmal ein, danach bleibt das Armmodul immer eingeschaltet und kann geladen werden. Zum Starten und Stoppen des Systems trennen Sie das Armmodul vom Ladegerät bzw. verbinden Sie es wieder mit dem Ladegerät. Nehmen Sie einen Kugelschreiber/Bleistift.

    3. The NightWatch 3.1 Product description and intended use The NightWatch is intended to alert the user to possible night-time epileptic seizures. While the person with epilepsy (hereafter: the wearer) sleeps, carers can be notified when an ‘urgent seizure’ occurs. This refers to tonic-clonic, prolonged tonic or hypermotor seizures.

    4. The different components and how they work 4.1 Armband: arm module with flexible strap The arm module is the device that is placed around the upper arm. The best position for the arm module is facing forward around the upper arm between the biceps and the shoulder. The two green lights on the dark grey underside of the arm module are used for registering the heartbeat.

    4.2 Base station The square white box is the base station that displays both light (LEDs) and sound signals. The base station can be placed anywhere in the home near a power outlet. However, ensure that you can hear the sound signal from the base station and that it is loud enough to wake you up at night.

    5. How to prepare your NightWatch for first use 5.1 Step 1: Adjust the armband You will need: Flexible strap § 2 clips § Arm module § Ballpoint pen/pencil § Sharp (fabric) scissors § The armband, consisting of the flexible strap and the arm module, should be adjusted to fit the wearer.
  • Page 61 Attach the clips to the slots in the arm module in a downward motion with the ends of the band protruding from the lower end of the arm module. Place the armband around the wearer’s upper arm, while making sure the arm module is facing forward, a little above the belly of the biceps but below the shoulder.
  • Page 62 There is no cause for concern if the armband leaves an imprint on the arm after a night’s sleep, as long as this imprint fades by itself within half an hour. PLEASE NOTE: Please ensure the armband has been adjusted to the correct size for the patient before use, so that it is not too tight or too loose.

    5.2 Step 2: First activation and charging the arm module In principle, you only switch the arm module on once, after which the arm module is always on and can be charged. From now on, you will start and stop the system by connecting and disconnecting the arm module and the charging adapter.
