NIKON A1R – SETTING KOHLER FOR DIC

SYSTEM START UP

1. Turn on the laser unit
o Press button on left side
o Turn Key on Middle box of unit
o The light will stop blinking when the laser unit is ready
2. Turn on the Surge protector at the back of the microscope table
3. Turn on the computer
4. Turn on the software – NIS Elements AR 4.51.00

SETTING KOHLER

5. Select the DIC button - light to the eye pieces.
6. Make sure the GIF slider is out of the light path – light through eye piece will appear green
if the GIF slider is pushed in.
7. Under the Lamps option – control brightness
o To turn off the light, click the green rectangle – turns red when light is off
8. Close down the F stop (turn dial to the left).
